How to defend yourself from bad positions?
So when you are in a lower position on your knees you can do a lot of what you can do standing. Definitely strikes and takedowns are all there on the table for you, you just have to be constantly aware that he can knee you in the face or soccer kick you in the head.
It's not a position you would seek out but sometimes if you've gone for your takedown and he has stuffed it or defended it, you end up there anyway. Or maybe you’ve slipped or been forced down there during striking or grappling. Either way it pays to be able to fight from this position even just for a few seconds till you can regain your footing.
