Training the Elbows

Working on our close range elbows last night. These are a great tool for when you are in the clinch with your opponent as they won't see them coming, you can trap their hand on that side with grip fighting (shown at the end of the clip) to negate their blocks and you can mix them with knees to the body to keep them guessing where the next hit is coming from.

First job however was to work on how to generate power in the shortest possible distance so as not to telegraph the strike or open yourself up to your opponents elbows!

Spoiler alert, it's a mixture of pulling the opponents head into the strike and using a hip and shoulder "pop" 👊

So how does this integrate with our normal fighting style? Well our fence guard is a great way to initiate the clinch in the first place. Or its equally possible to crash in with our atom and do the same thing sans clinch from a tight guard whilst staying well defended.
